The Butterfly House

I have three very different Zoos within a few hours drive from me, one is an Australian Native and Bushland Zoo (Healesville Sanctuary), there is a African Savanna (Werribee Open Range Zoo - My Fav) and of course the traditional Melbourne Zoo. Each have the benefits, I do adore the Birds of Prey at Healesville, and Werribee is my favorite with Zebras, and Hippos and more. I do not visit the Melbourne Zoo that often, however it does have an amazing butterfly house.

Now I do not claim to be the greatest insect macro photographer, so please do not expect Nat Geo standards here, but I do the best with what I have and it is so much fun getting out of your comfort zone, learning new things as well.

Fractal Prism Filters

The next image and also in the Video Montage which look a little blurry, but a friend lent me some prism fractal filters to play with, oh my they ARE such fun. I ended up buying my own set...need to play with them more once they arrive. The link is here if you are interested.
